Summer 2012 Sailing Schedule (June - July) Something for Everyone!

All of our activities will include all equipment, insurance and coaching. We have a lower age limit of 12 on all programmes.

3June - Volunteer Celebration for Volunteer Week - 12-3.30pm

Location:  OYTI office- Odyssey Pavillion, Belfast

OYTI will be opening our doors and hosting training for any new volunteers keen to learn about our work.

Activities are scheduled:  Lunch, first Aid Training, Awards Ceremony, try-sailing

Cost:  Free event

4- 6June - Adventure Sailing - 10am-8pm 

Location:  Belfast Marina

 

OYTI will be running try-sailing sessions from the first community boating school in Europe.

We can take anyone aged 12 or over on a 1 hour sailing lesson in Belfast Harbour.

Cost:  Discounted Bank Holiday rate will be £12 per person or £50 for up to 6 people for an hour long sailing session.

 

5June - Kings and Queens Jubliee Boat Party - 10am-8pm

Location:  Belfast Marina

OYTI will be offering try-sailing to families and visitors from 10am-8pm at a discounted Bank Holiday rate of £12 per person or £50 for up to 6 people for an hour long sailing session.

We will also be offering a special VIP experience that will be a speedboat ride from Belfast to Carrickfergus Castle.

Carrickfergus Castle are hosting a series of jubliee themed activities. The experience will conclude with traditional fish and chips before speeding back to Belfast marina.

Offer to include-Thrilling Boat trip to Medieval Carrickfergus,  Entry into the castle,  Jubilee Certificate, Jubilee map pack, 15% off CASTLE Fish and Chips

Cost:  £25 for adults £23 for kids

7June - Olympic Torch Flotilla

Location:  Lough Neagh

OYTI are assisting Antrim Borough Council in welcoming the torch relay into the city.

We will be offering free try-sailing on Lough Neagh to local schools on the 7June.

Cost:  Free event

11 - 18 June - Adventure Sailing - 10am-8pm

17June - Fathers Day Fun - 10am-8pm

Location:  Belfast Marina

OYTI will be offering fathers a chance to come out sailing from our Belfast Harbour Sailing School.

Treat your dad to a day on the waves!

Cost:  Family rates will be £80 for up to 6 people

23  & 24 June - ISA Sail Spree

Location:  Londonderry Marina, Lough Foyle

SAIL SPREE is an initiative ran by Irish Sailing Association to encourage people to get on the water over the weekend of 23/24 June 2012.

OYTI will be offering try-sailing and Adventure Sailing in Lough Foyle on the 23and 24 June.

Cost:  £10 per hour coaching on Lough Foyle

25 - 3 July - Clipper

Location:  Londonderry Marina, Lough Foyle

We are now on count down to the arrival of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race arriving at the end of June, and are looking forward to this world class event coming to our shores.

Ocean Youth Trust Ireland are offering adventure try-sailing in collaboration with the Loughs Agency and Derry City Council.

4 - 8 July - Volvo Ocean Race Finale

Location-Galway Bay

OYTI are assisting Lets Do it Global in welcoming the Volvo Ocean fleet back into Galway for the final leg of the round the world race.

Visitors will be welcomed onto our RS Keelboats for an hour long try-sailing session.

Cost:  Try-sailing activities will be free during the Volvo stopover

13 - 16July - Aran Adventure Camp

Location-Inishmore

OYTI are offering sailing school to visitors and residents on Aran Islands following the Volvo Ocean Race stopover.

Try-sailing as well as sailing coaching will be on offer over the week of the camp.

Cost:  £15 per person or £60 for 3 day coaching

Keelboat Endorsement Course - Open to all current RYA Dinghy Instructors who hold a valid First Aid certificate.

The course cost will be either £200 or Free to those willing to vounteer for the Ocean Youth Trust on 4 seperate occasions.
