The Rights of Homeless Young People

Training will aim to support those advocating for the accommodation rights of young people by providing expert legal analysis and guidance on statutory duties to accommodate and to provide leaving and aftercare supports for homeless young people.
Training will be held in the Children's Law Centre from 10am - 12pm. This event will also include guidance on applying the Regional Good Practice Guidance (revised 2014) to meeting accommodation and support needs of 16 and 17 year olds (including young people who interface with the youth justice system) as well as an update on recent relevant case law and implications for advocacy practice. Training is relevant to all working with and/or advocating on behalf of homeless young people including social workers, Housing Executive staff, Housing Rights and Youth Justice organisations and Legal Advisors.
