Research on the Road: Data Protection and Research #DataFridays

NICVA’s next ‘Research on the Road’ clinic will be held in Newry in partnership with the Information Commissioners Office and the Confederation of Community Groups of Newry and District.
It will provide a ‘rough guide’ to research methods and will also highlight the importance of research reports and other methods of dissemination. In addition the Information Commissioner’s Office will provide a brief session on the research exceptions within the Data Protection Act and an explanation of when and how it can be used.
This event is specifically tailored for the voluntary and community sector.
The aim of this event is to inform participants about the importance of research to their work, assessing their organisations and how it can help with funding applications. The event will provide basic training in research methods, as well as highlighting useful sources of information. This event will examine;
- The importance of research for future planning
- Designing research projects
- Questionnaire design
- Methods of dissemination
- External sources of data to support research
- Overview of research exemption within the Data Protection Act
The session is free; however spaces are limited. Bookings must be made by 18 April 2016.
