Housing Rights
At present around 12% of homes in NI are rented from a private landlord. This four day, accredited course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to provide comprehensive advice and assistance to tenants renting from a private landlord.
In particular this course will include:
- Status of occupiers
- Tenancy types & equality issues
- Obligations of landlords and tenants
- Repairing obligations of both parties
- Fitness, rent control & functions of the Rent Officer
- Houses of multiple occupations
- Finance Issues
- Housing benefit & local housing allowance
- Security of tenure & ending tenancy
Who Should Attend?
This course will prove essential for anyone who is providing advice to tenants in the private rented sector, including solicitors, environmental health officers, advisers, estate & management agents and landlords.
If you wish to register with OCN NI for accreditation there will be an additional fee of £25.00. Participants who submit a portfolio for accreditation after the submission date will be charged a late fee of £12.00.
Members of the Legal & Environmental Health profession attending this course will be eligible for CPD points
