Priorities for the housing market in Northern Ireland

Policy Forum for Northern Ireland

Policy Forum for Northern Ireland

Cost: £210.00
Priorities for the housing market in Northern Ireland

This seminar will bring together policymakers and key stakeholders to examine the priorities for the housing sector in Northern Ireland.

Those attending will assess the latest thinking on tackling current challenges to housing development, overcoming delays in the planning system and options for better utilisation of vacant property and existing housing stock, as well as options for innovation such as modular and fast-build housing, to reduce costs and construction time frames.

Delegates will also examine the industry’s response to Brexit, including how to overcome the impact on the construction workforce, housing and supply costs, and on regulation.

Further sessions will look at lessons from other jurisdictions in increasing the number of houses being built - particularly through Government initiatives such as the Rebuilding Ireland Action Plan and greater collaboration between local authorities and other industry bodies - and possible reform of social housing - including integration with existing communities and promoting the health and well-being of residents.
