A public meeting to celebrate and demonstrate the work of NICE, the first solar community co-operative in Northern Ireland

Northern Ireland Community Energy (NICE) is N.I.s first solar, community energy Co-Operative. NICE has to date raised over 90% of its £150,000 target through a community shares offer. NICE is using this investment capital to install free solar panels on the buildings of N.I. third sector organisations such as community associations, social enterprises, sports halls etc. These organisations in turn enjoy significantly reduced energy costs.

We are holding a public meeting to celebrate our achievement to date & to showcase local community organisation the Chinese Welfare Association where NICE has installed free of charge a 12kW solar pv array.  If you want to know more about this initiative, join us and hear from NICE Directors, Karen Arbuckle and Andrew McMurray; William Olphert, Managing Director Chinese Welfare Association, Tiziana O'Hara, Co-Operative Alternatives an expert in community shares & our main speaker Anna Lo, MLA.

NICE also wish to further promote this pioneering N.I. community energy initiative and gather more interest from organisations and individuals who may want to consider becoming a member of our pioneering community energy Co-Operative.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
