  • Understand the importance of proactive & reactive health & safety monitoring measures.
  • Identify hazards in the workplace & carry out risk assessments, record findings & review procedures.
  • Advise on strategies for controlling hazards, reducing risks & applying safe systems of work.
  • Identify fire hazards & consequential risks, advise on measures to minimise fire risks & develop fire procedures.
  • Identify ill health effects of physical processes of work & the environment & recommend suitable measures to combat risks.
  • Explain the processes & procedures for investigating & reporting accidents at work.

Course Structure

The course is divided into 3 parts:

  • Part A1: The Management of Safety
  • Part A2: The Identifying and controlling Workplace Hazards
  • Part 3: The Assessments - End of course 2 part written examination and a practical assessment.

The practical element consists of carrying out a safety inspection of their own workplace and preparing a management report

  • 20 x 1/2 day (evening) classes plus 1 day for Examinations.

  • GC2: 25th Oct, 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd Nov 2017
  • Revision Day: 29th Nov 2017
  • Exam: 6th Dec 2017

Please Note: We not only provide training from our centres in both Newry and Belfast but for groups we can travel to you anywhere within Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Great Britain.
