Northern Ireland has never had so many major activities / events happening in such quick succession.

It is a time for people acrossNorthern Ireland to celebrate and showcase what we have to offer in terms of culture, heritage, arts and sports on the world stage. A big part of what makesNorthern Irelandso fantastic is the people that live here, our community, and it is fabulous to see so many opportunities for people to get actively involved in these events in a voluntary capacity.

The Volunteering Strategy forNorthern Ireland is the key strategic map for the development of volunteering over the next 5 years or more. For Londonderry / Derry in particular the City ofCulture Actionplan offers a local framework to capitalise on the energy from the year, to enhance participation and increase the benefits from volunteering.  It is also important for volunteer involving organisations of all sizes to be able to demonstrate the value of the activities which volunteers are involved in. With increasing competition for smaller amounts of funding, it has never been more vital for groups to be able to evidence outcomes and impact.

To help support these important aims Volunteer Now is holding two FREE events on the 25th September in the North West Volunteer Centre, 22 Bishop Street, L/Derry, BT48 6PP.
