Lunchtime Seminar: Earn More than Respect - The business case for fostering LGB equality in the workplace
The Rainbow Project
Come along for a free light lunch seminar at CO3, in partnership with The Rainbow Project, at CO3 offices on Shaftsbury Square to give an insight into equality and diversity in the workplace and supporting LGB staff and clients, all funded under DEL.
Every organisation is facing increasing challenges in a competitive marketplace where workforces are more diverse than ever. Evidence shows that those organisations which foster and promote diversity do better in terms of productivity, growth and higher staff retention rates.
Promoting equality and diversity in the workplace not only demonstrates compliance with the law but earns organisations a reputation as being open, creative and forward thinking. Working in an “LGB friendly environment” has been shown to have a positive impact at work. It fosters openness and confidence, improved work productivity and effectiveness as well as loyalty and pride in the organisation.
The Department for Employment and Learning have commissioned The Rainbow Project to manage a programme in Northern Ireland that will provide support and guidance in best practice in equality and diversity, as well as offering free training on Sexual Orientation Awareness.
This brief lunch time session will allow participants to gain an insight into best practice in this important area as well prompting the discussion around reviewing and updating existing policies. Participants will also have an opportunity to learn about the Diversity Champions NI programme which will be launched in 2014 and the benefits for their organisation.
