LiveNet is designed to help people with a learning disability, their family members and carers to develop the skills and knowledge to use information and communications technology (ICT) in everyday life.
LiveNet’s Digital Skills workshops provide learners with an opportunity to gain new digital skills in a friendly and informal learning environment.
The aims of our workshops are to develop basic digital skills and to encourage participation in the community. The workshops currently available are:
- eSafety
- Word Processing
- Photography
- Social Media
- Video Making
- Using the Internet
- Using mobile phones
- Blogging
- Podcasting
Delivery Schedule
Delivery time varies depending on the delivery option. We can tailor delivery to meet the needs of each group. Each individual workshop lasts a maximum of 2 hours.
LiveNet can facilitate a maximum of 10 participants in each workshop.
Cost of Course
Prices range from FREE to £250 dependant upon your chosen option of delivery.

Volunteer NowTraining/AdviceThis is a half day’s refresher training for Designated Officers who have already attended a full day’s training. It covers: The role and responsibilities of the Designated Officer Health and Social Care Trusts structures and processes Issues and experiences around referrals and sharing information Recent developments in safeguarding children and young people.- - -Keeping Children and Adults Safe: Training for Staff and Volunteers Refresher Training
Volunteer NowTraining/AdviceThis course is aimed at individuals who recruit, manage or supervise staff and volunteers working with children and/or adults. It will examine the procedures that need to be put in place for effective recruitment and selection of staff and volunteers including requirements under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (NI) Order, the current and former definitions of regulated activity and how to exercise careful judgement when assessing information on an Access NI Disclosure Certificate. It will also look at the procedures required for the effective management of staff and volunteers including induction and training, breach of code of behaviour and referral to the Disclosure and Barring Service.- - -
