This Certificate Course will being Monday 29th May 2017 from 6pm-10pm
Students will learn insights, knowledge and understanding of brief therapy skills and techniques
The aim of this unit is to provide a basis on which to understand the different brief therapy models, their limitations and risks to both counsellor and client. The management of time within the counselling relationship and the different skills required will also be covered in this unit.
This course is appropriate for those working in roles where counselling skills are needed: for example, nursing, teaching, social work, voluntary sector etc

It will examine the procedures that need to be put in place for effective recruitment and selection of staff and volunteers including requirements under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (NI) Order, the current and former definitions of regulated activity and how to exercise careful judgement when assessing information on an Access NI Disclosure Certificate. It will also look at the procedures required for the effective management of staff and volunteers including induction and training, breach of code of behaviour and referral to the Disclosure and Barring Service.- - -
