An Introduction to Safeguarding Children & Young People

The Keeping Children Safe Project provides safeguarding training to meet the needs of community and voluntary sector groups. With this workshop the Project is taking its training programme even further out into the community by offering the course in the Community Room of Tesco Newtownbreda. The session will be delivered by Sheina Rigg, a co-ordinator with the Project and a senior practitioner in Social work.

This is a 3 hour morning session and will be delivered in a relaxed style with the opportunity for discussion and questions are encouraged.

Anyone who attends will have the opportunity to explore:

  • The legal context underpining keeping children safe

  •  Types of abuse including online, grooming and exploitation

  • What to do if you have a concern and how to report
