This course aims to provide participants with an understanding of the correct technique in the general administration of injections and a brief overview of the emergency management of anaphylaxis.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the session, participants will have:
- Developed an understanding of the related anatomical features of the circulatory, muscular and nervous systems.
- Studied the current guidance and best practice in administering injections.
- Discussed storage of injections (including cold chain), holding, consent and recording.
- Observed the administration of injections and have the opportunity to practice, using a simulated device.
- Manage Anaphylaxis according to Resuscitation Council UK Guidelines (2008).
- Observed simulated auto injectors being used.
Certificate of attendance will be awarded on completion of the course.
