The Independent Examination of Charity Accruals Accounting

A two day course for people who are familiar with accruals account but are not familiar with, or want to learn more detail about, charity accounting or independent examination. The course will be delivered by the Association of Charity Independent Examine
All registered charities are now legally required to have their annual accounts either audited or independently examined, depending on their income. The Charity Commission has also issued Directions which must be followed by independent examiners when carrying out the examination of the accounts.
Course aims: this two-day course aims to introduce participants to the:
- Principles of Charity Accounting and the form and content of charity accounts as required by the Charities SORP (FRS102)
- Principles and practicalities of undertaking an Independent Examination and the Charity Commissions’ Directions to independent examiners
The course will also be of interest to:
- People who are familiar with preparing accruals accounts but have little previous knowledge or experience in charity accounting or the new charity accounting regime in Northern Ireland.
- Qualified or experienced accountants or community accountants who will have experience of charity accruals accounting but who are unfamiliar with independent examination.
