Digital Visions - COMMUNITY OF INDEPENDENTS - MUSIC & MEDIA NORTH & SOUTH

In early 2011, Barry Lennon and Dublin Community Television partnered with First Music Contact to apply for funding from the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland to make Community of Independents. Director John Breslin and Producer Barry Lennon showcase their music series, which is produced from the DCTV Shopfront Studio in Temple Bar and features live music, documentaries and studio interviews.  The showcase is followed by a discussion led by Jonny Tiernan, Editor of AU, on the North-South divide in music on  the island, attempts to attract crowds to gigs of Belfast bands down South and vice versa and getting media exposure on both sides of the border.
