Conference: Open Data for Funding, Citizens and Services
Detail Data
Detail Data is hosting its first conference in January.
Open data is an emergent field in Northern Ireland. The public sector is publishing data and building online services for citizens, businesses are basing their decision-making on open data, and developers are building new services and products through access to freely-available information.
Voluntary and community organisations and social enterprises can also benefit from these new models of creativity, innovation and public engagement. As with any groundbreaking domain, there are challenges for organisations in technology, skills, resources and following best practice.
Our speakers will talk about what they're doing and what drives them, the challenges they've faced, and the impact that they're creating.
Speakers
- Liz Carolan, Open Data Institute
- Katherine Duerden, 360 Giving
- Alan Hook, Ulster University
- Stephanie Keogh, Dublin Dashboard
- Kathryn Torney, Detail Data
We'll also have a series of hosted workshops with OpenDataNI, 360 Giving, Stevan Barry (Save a Selfie), Brian Cleland (Open Government Network), Elections NI, and from the Detail Data team themselves.
