The Common Purpose Navigator programme is currently receiving applications for the 2017 cohort. The programme will begin in October, and is a fantastic opportunity for middle managers/ emerging leaders to develop their leadership skills.
Common Purpose Navigator
Navigator makes the city your classroom by taking you behind the scenes and immersing you in real-life challenges faced by leaders from a wide range of sectors. This experiential programme helps you explore change and innovation, allowing you to develop better problem-solving skills and the ability to work in diverse groups.
You will receive insights from key leaders in the city or region, who will share with you their successes and failures on the key themes of power, courage and resonance. Navigator provides you with a safe space to share your own leadership challenges with fellow participants. You will be taken out of your familiar environment to examine why, when and how you lead.

Volunteer NowTraining/AdviceThis is a half day’s refresher training for Designated Officers who have already attended a full day’s training. It covers: The role and responsibilities of the Designated Officer Health and Social Care Trusts structures and processes Issues and experiences around referrals and sharing information Recent developments in safeguarding children and young people.- - -Keeping Children and Adults Safe: Training for Staff and Volunteers Refresher Training
Volunteer NowTraining/AdviceThis course is aimed at individuals who recruit, manage or supervise staff and volunteers working with children and/or adults. It will examine the procedures that need to be put in place for effective recruitment and selection of staff and volunteers including requirements under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (NI) Order, the current and former definitions of regulated activity and how to exercise careful judgement when assessing information on an Access NI Disclosure Certificate. It will also look at the procedures required for the effective management of staff and volunteers including induction and training, breach of code of behaviour and referral to the Disclosure and Barring Service.- - -
