Caring for someone with dementia in the Newry area?

Alzheimer's Society

Alzheimer's Society

Cost: Free

Alzheimer's Society welcomes carers of people with dementia to attend a monthly Carer Support Group in Ballybot House, Newry.

The Alzheimer’s Society carer support groups provide opportunities for carers to ask questions and learn from the experiences of others within the group. Trained Alzheimer’s Society staff are on hand to provide information about dementia and practical tips about coping with the condition.

Alzheimer’s Society in Newry & Mourne continues to provide valuable services in Newry, and surrounding areas, for people living with dementia and their carers.

Aisling Smith, Dementia Support Worker for Alzheimer’s Society within the Newry and Mourne area, said:

“Caring for someone with dementia can be quite isolating and we find that for many carers just talking about their situation with other people helps, especially if those people also have experience of caring for a person with dementia. Carer Support Groups are a great source of support and information.”

“Newry Carer Support Group will take place on the first Tuesday of each month 7.30-9pm in Ballybot House, Newry. “
