Cost: £20 registration fee (£80 sponsorship)
The Bog Run

The Bog Run is a 5K mud run taking place in Castlewellan Forest Park on Sunday 8th October. It promises to be one of the boggiest 5K runs around, with plenty of mud and great fun in aid of local children with cancer.

The Bog Run is Back

It’s time to get absolutely boggin’ once again as The Bog Run makes its muddy return to Castlewellan Forest Park on Sunday 8th October! This 5K run promises to be one of the boggiest around.

We don’t care if you can’t remember the last time you saw a gym – The Bog Run is a run for fun; a great sense of humour, and determination to get stuck in is all we ask for!

Best of all, by taking part, you are making a difference to the lives of local children affected by cancer.

An even better Bog this year...

The Bog Run is now in its third year and we felt it was time to mix things up a little. We've listened to your feedback, and so here's what you can expect from an even bigger and better Bog Run...

We've opened up our entry requirements and are delighted to welcome participants from age 12+. Why not rope in the whole family for what promises to an amazing day out together?

Everyone who takes part in The Bog Run, will be awarded a lovely shiny Bog Run medal at the end to say thanks for taking part. You'll also get a goody bag with drink and snack when you cross the finish line!

With the changes, we are delighted that we can offer you an even better value Bog Run and have reduced how much we are asking you to pay to register and raise to take part!

Supporting Children With Cancer

By taking part in the Bog Run, you'll be making a difference to children whose lives have been impacted by a cancer diagnosis. You'll enable our team of Specialists to provide a range of practical, emotional and financial support, as well as free therapeutic short breaks to families affected by cancer.

For example:

  • £60 could pay for two hours of one-to-one support for a child living with cancer with a Cancer Fund for Children Specialist at home or on the hospital ward.
  • £200 could pay for a Home Heating Grant to help families keep their homes warm while their child is undergoing treatment.
  • £500 could pay for a Treatment for Treatment Grant for a family to travel outside Northern Ireland for specialist treatment with their child.

The Nitty Gritty

Registration for the event is £20, with a minimum sponsorship of £50 suggested for participants aged 12-17 and £80 for anyone aged 18+ taking part.

By choosing to take part and raise funds for Cancer Fund for Children, you are ensuring families affected by cancer don't have to face it alone. We receive less than 0.5% of our income from government funding so rely on the generosity and enthusiam of amazing people like you to help us fund our services.

Our Fundraising Team are here to support you and can provide you with materials and advice on how to raise the funds.
