Join us on this exciting challenge as you trek 26 miles of the beautiful Causeway Coastal Way, passing numerous landmarks of outstanding natural beauty including the iconic Giant's Causeway.
The Memory Walk Marathon Northern Ireland treks across 26 miles of the beautiful
Causeway Coastal Way, passing numerous landmarks of outstanding natural
beauty including the iconic Giant’s Causeway. You will start and finish your walk in
Portballintrae, with your furthest point reaching Ballintoy Harbour.
Registration for your walk will open at 7am, and your walk will begin at 8am
prompt. It will be a long and tiring day so to save you having to drive after the walk
we would recommend you get dropped off and picked up.
The full 26 mile walk should take approximately 8-10 hours for fit and strong
walkers; others should allow longer.
Memory Walk Marathon is not a competitive event. You can go at your own pace,
but if we are concerned about you being able to finish the distance safely, we will
recommend you stop early.
Your trek will mainly take place on grassy paths or dirt tracks, but there are some
stony paths and small tarmac roads; some sections may be muddy or boggy. There
are steep inclines both up and down. Care must be taken over rough terrain and
when walking on roads.
