This practical training programme will equip service and project leads with the tools and skills they need to evaluate the impact of their service or intervention in a meaningful way. It is suitable for those who need to understand the basics of evaluation, and those who need to enhance their skills in analysing and reporting data to be able to tell their story. The programme is split into 3 sessions, and you can choose to attend online or in person - you can attend an individual session or all 3 depending on your knowledge and experience.

The CES Evaluating Impact training programme will help practitioners to determine the impact of their initiatives in a practical way through a combination of theory and hands on activities which can then be applied to their own unique setting.

Session 1 is an introduction to evaluation where participants will achieve an understanding of outputs, outcomes and indicators of success for their service. They will also be also to articulate a Theory of Change for their own service.

Session 2 is a deeper dive into the process of evaluation where participants will be given the skills to select the right evaluation method for each stage of their work and gain an understanding of how to create an evaluation plan for their service.

Session 3 will enable participants to analyse their data and tell the story of their findings, which is vital when communicating with funders and other stakeholders.

One participant said: “The whole process from start to finish I will definitely use. The way the procedure was broken down, step by step, explained until it was 'squared off' in my head and given the chance to go through it by using the case study.  I have more confidence to apply this to my own evaluations here to get more useful and meaningful results.”
